The Battle of Bunker Hill was the first major battle in the American Revolutionary War. It took place on June 17, 1775 and it was fought mostly between British troops and colonial forces. The British had fortified themselves on top of the hill and were attacked by colonial forces who had been hiding nearby in Charlestown. 

The site of this battle is now a major landmark within the city of Boston. The monument is a popular tourist destination and has been featured in numerous films, books and songs.

Boston’s large Irish population can be attributed to many factors including its proximity to Ireland, its status as an early port for Irish immigrants, and its long history of being an industrial city with many blue-collar jobs available for immigrants.

Boston Common is the oldest park in the United States. It was established in 1634 and is located right next to the Massachusetts State House. 

Boston Common has been used for many purposes throughout its history, including as a grazing land, a burial ground, an encampment site during the Revolutionary War, and a public meeting place.
