In eat's a date, Filipino food

Crisostomo: Turn of the Century Filipino Dining

Crisostomo is one of my favourite restaurants when it comes to Filipino cuisine. They come up with exciting names in their menu. They include some of the popular places, people, events or even the characters and lines in some of Dr. Jose Rizal books in their menu. I can say Filipinos can really relate with the food. We visited the Crisostomo at Resorts World Manila, Newport City, Pasay. Their food ranges to 200-900php.

Buko Lychee and Fresh Buko

My drink is the fresh buko. Too bad it’s not that cold. Hahaha It is literally fresh. As you can see on the photo above. BUKO! hahaha The other one is buko lycee, it is a shake mix with buko and lychee fruit and milk and ice.

Lengua Laruja

Lengua Laruja is an Ox’s tougue. Would you dare taste it? You should because it is on my long list of my favourite food. It’s very creamy and I love mushrooms. You would not mind that it is from an Ox's tougue.

KKK Barbecue

KKK bbq is my sister’s order. Kinda lame right? Hahaha (Yan lang yata lam kainin nyan tska chicken. Hoho kidding.) It is just a typical barbeque with achara on the side.

Pandan Plain Rice

The rice. Bow. hehehe

Avenida

Avenida the perfect combination of prawn and coconut milk. I am not a fan of prawn but this is delicious.

Lechon Paksiw (forgot their term for this food in their menu. hehe)

Lechon Paksiw is a little long process before we taste it. I mean it came late on our table. It looks appetizing, right? But for me, there is nothing special with this lechon paksiw. I expected too much because of the lechon displayed in front of their restaurant. I thought the lechon would be a little crispy, not! It's so saggy.

Half Mateo/ Half Vicente

Mateo consist of Hamonado, Lucban, Vigan and Cabanatuan longganissa while Vicente consists of Laguna Kesong Puti, Tomato and Basil. As you can see, the toppings of the pizza is so Filipino. It's good. Something different from the ordinary pizza. Try this.

Iday

I love the presentation of Iday. It is suman with fondue. Suman made it classy. Cool, right? This is the only time I discovered that suman is a good combination with chocolate. Yummy!

Are you convince to eat here at Crisostomo? Try it now! haha The menu that I have been eying here is the bistek tagalog or Bistek Pelaez but here's the catch. It's worth 900++. hahaha Expensive for a one dish, according to the menu, it is U.S. Beef Angus. If you know me, I am a sucker for beef dishes and beef steak is really my favorite dish. Maybe one day, I will come back and order it. If that day comes, will blog it as soon as possible. It will take a little longer I think. hahahaha If you are interested to dine, see the information below.

In adventure, friends

Travel: Potipot Island, Zambales

Last summer, I together with my friends went to Potipot Island, Zambales. I was with my college friends; it was an all-girls adventure. I am with these girls for four years in college and until now. I missed being with them every day. Kulang na lang magpalit kami ng faces sa sobrang close. O db? We were planning to go to Coron, Palawan unfortunately, something came up. So we decided to choose another location. Everything was in a rush, who would think that we will be able to have a fun girl bonding adventure during those times.

As usual, I am the group messenger master. Chos! Hahaha I mean, I am the one who kept on reminding them to be on time, etc. (Example: “Be there 8am sharp”) then, I am the one who was late. Haha I slept late then woke up like 30 minutes before our meeting time. Seriously, I run and walk as fast as I can and rode a cab. I have no choice; I had to splurge a little on toll fees so I decided to take the skyway. Poor little me because I was not able to take a bath. Hahahaha (this is between you and me, okey??) When I saw them, they scolded me. Chos! That’s fine! I know. My fault. Anyways, back to the adventure. We paid for a package to Potipot Island, Zambales. Inclusive of the van, rooms to stay, food, boat to Potipot Island and more for only P3000 per person. I forgot the agency my friend contacted.

For 3-4 hours, we were talking non-stop, teasing each other, sleeping and eating to kill the boredom of the journey. We stayed at Daway Resort for a night. We swam at the salty water of Potipot Island. We buried my friend alive in the sands. Hahaha Then, we pig out! We kept on playing cards and ipad games until dawn. We actually want to go to the beach and party but the weather did not permit us. We called it a night and woke up to another day of girl bonding.

Philippine Fashion Week 2012: Philipp Tampus

As I remember Philipp Tampus was one of the Project Runway Philippines contestant from Season 1. Take note not just a contestant but the winner of the first Project Runway here in our country. It was a privileged to watch his design on the runway during the Philippine Fashion Week last May 26, 2012.

His designs are so elegant. I hope someday I could wear one of his design. hehehe :)
